Abu Dhabi, April 8, 2025: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation announced the organization of the third edition of the UAE National Mixed Martial Arts Championship on April 12 and 13, 2025, at the Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai. This championship is part of the Federation’s programs to promote the sport of mixed martial arts locally and provide a competitive platform for talent discovery and development.
The third edition is expected to witness widespread participation from male and female players from various clubs and academies across the country, underscoring the growing importance of this championship in the UAE sports landscape.
The championship includes competitions for various age groups, starting with the D Youth category (aged 10-11), followed by the C Juniors (aged 12-13) and B Juniors (aged 14-15), followed by the A Youth category (aged 16-17), and the Adults category (aged 18 and above).
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation announced that the weight distribution for each age group has been approved in accordance with approved international regulations, ensuring equal opportunities for competitors within the same category. The approved organizing mechanism also contributes to raising the level of competition and enhancing the quality of performance by motivating players to perform at their best. At the conclusion of the event, the top finishers in the various age and weight categories will be crowned. Mohammed Jassim Al Hosani, a member of the Federation’s Mixed Martial Arts Committee, said: “The championship is a key milestone in the Federation’s championship agenda, as it achieves both technical and strategic objectives. It gives players the opportunity to test their abilities in a competitive environment that aligns with international standards, and enables us to identify and guide emerging talent within integrated development programs.” He pointed out that the high turnout in the past two editions of the championship reflects the Federation’s success in building a solid base of athletes and strengthening the country’s leading position in mixed martial arts at the regional and global levels.
