Abu Dhabi, March 3, 2023: The fourth mixed martial arts tournament for juniors, the second in the current season, will begin tomorrow, Saturday. Its activities will be held on Saturday, March 3, at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, with the participation of an elite group of male and female players of various nationalities.
Mohammed Al Hosani, a member of the mixed martial arts committee in the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, confirms that the fourth mixed martial arts championship for juniors comes within the framework of completing the successes of the previous three editions of the championships, which aims to establish a strong national team capable of competing and winning the crown in the largest international championships.
Al Hosani says: “The focus on mixed martial arts began after the remarkable brilliance of the UAE’s rising stars in the recent World Championship hosted by Abu Dhabi in August 2022, where the people of the country succeeded in achieving many colorful medals.
He adds: “After the remarkable march of the national team’s stars in the World Mixed Martial Arts Championship, and pursuant to the directives of His Excellency Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, and based on the great position that the UAE and the capital, Abu Dhabi, enjoy at the level of mixed martial arts sports, the Arts Committee Mixed combat is developing an integrated program and action plan to advance this sport by focusing on the category of juniors under (14, 16, 18) years, and providing all the ingredients and factors that enable them to hone their talent and achieve sustainable growth to reach full professionalism and join the national teams and ascend to the podiums. Coronation.
Al Hosani explained: “The previous three junior championships, which were held in September and October 2022 and January of this year, witnessed an increasing demand by the people of the country wishing to achieve a successful professional career in the mixed martial arts level, and 45 Emirati players and 19 resident Arab players are participating in the fourth edition.” In the country.
He concluded by saying: “The tournament enables the players to optimally prepare to participate in the World Youth Martial Arts Championship next August, which is a competition that receives great global attention, as it brings together the elite mixed martial arts athletes aspiring to achieve the most expensive world title in sports.
The increasing demand for participation in the tournament confirms the success of the plans and strategies drawn up by the Federation in terms of spreading the sport and expanding the base of practitioners at all age levels. The organizing committee explained that the agenda of the fourth mixed martial arts championship for juniors includes a group of strong fights for a number of the most prominent players on the local scene, such as Hamdan Al-Balushi, Qutaiba Al-Kuntar, Ali Al-Yarbi, Alia and Shawq Al-Dhanhani, Muhammad Al-Shehhi, Youssef Al-Mohsen, Samad Nasser and Muhammad Al-Sheshtawi.
