Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Championship is the latest chapter of success for Jiu-Jitsu in the country

Abu Dhabi, 3 July 2024: The Board of Directors of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has approved the participation of the national team in the West Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which will be organized by the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation in Jordan next August, the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship, which will be hosted by Greece next October, and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Thailand in November. Through its participation in these championships, the team aims to continue its journey of achievements and sustain the achievement of more titles for the country at the continental and international levels.

This came during the meeting held on the sidelines of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Al Hashemi praised the distinguished hosting of the eighth edition of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in May in Abu Dhabi at all levels, noting that the capital, Abu Dhabi, continues its pioneering role in establishing new standards of creativity and innovation in hosting major international championships, as certified by the International Federation of the game. His happiness noted the distinguished achievement made by the champions of the national team for adults and their retention of the Asian title for the fourth year in a row, winning 18 colored medals, stressing that this achievement was achieved thanks to the unlimited support of the wise leadership, an integrated work system, a purposeful strategy, continuous effort, and the support of the Federation’s partners and sponsors, headed by “Mubadala Investment Company”, the exclusive sponsor of the team National .

The Council also reviewed the progress of work in implementing the Federation’s agenda for the 2024 sports season, most notably the qualitative addition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which will witness the organization of five rounds in the 2024 sports season. On the other hand, the Council approved the formation of the Higher Organizing Committee for the 16th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which will be launched next November , headed by His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and Mr. Mohammed Hussein Al Marzouqi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications, as the tournament director.
