Abu Dhabi, April 11, 2025: Following the remarkable success of its first and second editions this season, the third edition of the UAE National Mixed Martial Arts Championship kicks off tomorrow, Saturday. The two-day tournament will be held at the Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai, with the participation of 300 male and female players from various clubs and academies in the country.
The championship comes at an important time, supporting the continued growth and growing popularity of mixed martial arts and contributing to consolidating its presence in the local sporting scene. This is driven by the Federation’s support and tireless efforts to develop talent and establish a competitive environment that enhances players’ skills and development, enhancing their readiness for upcoming regional and international events, most notably the sixth edition of the World Mixed Martial Arts Junior Championship, which Abu Dhabi will host next July for the fourth consecutive year.
The first day of the championship is expected to witness intense and exciting fights in the D (10-11 year old) and C (12-13 year old) and B (14-15 year old) categories. Competition will continue on Sunday with fights in the Youth (16-17 year old) and Adult (18 year old) categories.
Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, Head of Events and Activities at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, emphasized that the third edition of the championship is part of the development of this sport at the national level, noting that it has become an important platform for discovering talent and creating champions who contribute to shaping the future of the sport in the country. He said, “We are witnessing a remarkable increase in the number of participants and the level of performance from one edition to the next, reflecting the success of the Federation’s strategy based on investing in local talent and providing a conducive environment that enables them to grow and excel.”
