Abu Dhabi, January 12, 2023: The Mixed Martial Arts Committee of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation announced that it has put the final touches on the preparations for the third mixed martial arts championship for juniors, which will be held next Saturday at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, with the participation of an elite group of male and female players of various nationalities. In different weight categories.
The third edition continues the success achieved by the previous two editions in terms of publishing and developing the game, and increasing participation rates and public attendance.
His Excellency Mohammed bin Dalmouk Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Mixed Martial Arts Committee, said: “The Mixed Martial Arts Championship represents an important addition to the agenda of activities for the 2023 sports season, especially as it will launch a long and exceptional season of tournaments and competitions organized by the Federation during the current year, in light of the growing interest in this type. It is one of the sports and there is a great demand for practicing it, especially among young people.”
He added: “The organization of the tournament accompanies the federation’s efforts to spread the game at the state level, highlight practitioners at all age levels, highlight talents, and develop programs and plans that contribute to raising their levels as they represent the cornerstone of establishing a national team capable of competing and shining in the largest tournaments.” “.
The organizing committee confirmed that the third mixed martial arts championship for juniors will be held over two days, unlike previous editions that were held in one day, due to it attracting a larger number of participants who want to compete for the championship title, which reflects the increasing spread of the game and its growing popularity in society. The desire of the new generation to learn about this sport and its professionalism is part of the federation’s efforts to strengthen the country’s position as a leading global destination in organizing the most important mixed martial arts tournaments and welcoming the elite of international champions.
The tournament’s organizing committee also confirmed its full readiness to host the fights at Mubadala Arena in accordance with the highest organizational and professional standards, and the participation of arbitration teams at the highest level.
