Abu Dhabi, 6 June 2024:  The Youth MMA Championship, considered the perfect precursor to the upcoming IMMAF Youth World Championships, will be held at Dubai’s Shabab Al Ahli Club on June 8, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced. The championship, featuring over a hundred athletes aged 12-17, will draw participants from leading clubs and academies across the UAE.

His Excellency Mohammed Bin Dalmouk Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, said: “We are delighted to host the third MMA event of the new season at Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai this Saturday. This championship will allow athletes to test their skills against the best in the country as they prepare for the IMMAF Youth World Championship, which Abu Dhabi is gearing up to host in August for the third year in a row.

“Through competitions like these, the Federation aims to discover talent with the potential to thrive, providing them with the ideal platform to showcase their skills, advance towards professional careers, and ultimately become integral members of the National Team.”

Al Dhaheri stressed that the preparations for the championship are complete and the great demand for participation in the championship, noting it showcases the success of the Federation’s plans and strategies in terms of promoting the sport and expanding the base of practitioners. The tournament features some of the most prominent players on the local scene, such as Zamzam Al Hammadi, Ghala Al Hammadi, Saeed Al Nuaimi, Abdullah Al Darmaki, Abdullah Andeez, and Zayed Al Hammadi.
