Abu Dhabi; August 28 , 2023: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation participated in the Abu Dhabi Sports Summer event, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), in celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on August 28 of each year .
During the sports event, which was recently launched in partnership with the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, the Federation presented a group of training sessions in martial arts and jiu-jitsu for a number of participants .
Emirati Women’s Day is an important occasion that celebrates the outstanding achievements of Emirati women in various fields. This year’s edition had a unique sporting theme, as the Federation provided an exceptional opportunity for women to practice the sport of Jiu-Jitsu, which is very popular in society .
Emirati Women’s Day 2023 carries the slogan (We Share for Tomorrow), especially since the UAE is one of the countries keen to establish the principle of gender balance in society and business in thought and practice, and to continue working towards enhancing the best enabling environment for Emirati women in all fields and sectors .
The exciting event was held as part of the Abu Dhabi Sports Summer and included a series of Jiu-Jitsu sessions supervised by specialist trainers from the federation and national team players. The participating women had the opportunity to learn about the world of martial arts and experience the sport of Jiu-Jitsu. The event was keen to meet the needs of women of all levels, ensuring that the sessions were enjoyable and beneficial for all .
Moza Al Mansouri, Administrative Supervisor of Support Services at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: “The role of Emirati women is prominent in various arenas, and their name has become associated with achieving accomplishments. Thanks to the sound vision of the wise leadership, they have been able to participate with full competence and ability in all areas of business and excel in them to the utmost extent .”

Emirati girls have become an integral part of the system of national and international sporting success and achievements. In turn, Bashayer Al Matrooshi, a player in the national jiu-jitsu team, said: “We are proud of our wise leadership, which gives Emirati women a special status and provides them with all the factors that enable them to excel, succeed, and participate effectively in consolidating the nation’s achievements .”She added: “We greatly appreciate our beloved country allocating a day a year to celebrate the achievements of Emirati women, and in light of this support and empowerment from the wise leadership, we have begun to celebrate our achievements throughout the year .”
